Project 21-06-1 is a conceptual extension of Project 21-06, which situates a simple modernist volume within the picturesque Norwegian fjord landscape. Designed for a family of four (2+2), the house merges minimalist aesthetics with functional design, thoughtfully adapted to the site’s natural conditions.
The building’s form consists of clean, geometric volumes, subtly shifted in relation to one another. This additive composition reflects the internal functional layout, creating distinct areas that separate private and communal spaces. The interplay of volumes maximizes natural light and views while providing varying degrees of privacy tailored to the family’s needs.
The exterior of the house, anchored on a natural stone outcrop, harmonizes with the surrounding landscape. The façade, finished in greige fiber cement tiles, emphasizes a seamless dialogue with the environment, blending the building with the natural tones of the Norwegian fjord and its setting. Inside, the spaces are designed to foster family life, with large west-facing windows offering panoramic views of Storfjorden and allowing ample sunlight to flood the interior.
This project exemplifies a delicate balance between modernist simplicity and functionality, creating a living space that not only meets the needs of its inhabitants but also respects the natural context and unique character of the site.
